Sirius XM Edge on Sale - worth it?

They have a sale going on now on the Edge radio. My question, is it worth it? Some say it sounds better. Do they try and get you on a higher priced subscription? Right now it's $79.95 at Best Buy and other retailers.

When my rig dies, will go for the Lynx.
Android powered, touchscreen, 25 memories, and...after the unit has been on for a few minutes, never ever tune in to the middle of a song, never. You go to any music channel that has artist/title data and the Lynx backs up to the start of the last song. THAT is a new way to experience radio.

What do you have now? I upgraded last year from a Skyfi2, pretty much traded features like song alerts and sports scores for xtra channels and a color display. I've been happy with it, I enjoy the xtra channels like Classic College Radio, Tiesto's Club Life Radio, Yoga and Carlin's Corner. Only thing I personally miss is song alerts but no biggie really.

Moot point now, when I got ready to buy it went off sale. I bought the OnyX which is still on sale for $39.99. I have it for around the house and in case anything goes wrong with the RoadyXT. The RoadyXT is working fine but I have seen several that have failed.

I was gonna say you'll like the higher qualety of the edge.
The extra channels dont seem to have the higher qualety though.

I would go with the Edge over the Onyx for the "XTRA" channels and for the 30 minute back-up 'buffer' like the SkyFi2 had (hit "pause" in drive thru or to take a call).

It's a shame that they've eliminated the SkyFi2 features of Sports/Stocks and the "Tune Select" - I don't think any radio has either anymore, do they? Do they even transmit the sports and stock info anymore?

Yes, my XpressRC still gets both.
What I miss from the SF2 are the extra preset banks.
Cars still have multiple drivers.
Wish I had gotten the XpressR without the C for that reason only.
