Everything was so much better before "dumb phones" turned most people into zombies that look down and barely even talk face to face anymore. I am so happy I grew up before these phones ruled most people's lives. I prefer my laptop to my phone because I like the bigger screen and I only use it I occasionally. It's so pathetic today that if all these phones stopped working, most people would have no idea what to do, and they would have "phone withdrawal" anxiety. 🤣Well, I guess I am an outlier. When I was a child my grandparents found that one of the the things that would help me go to sleep when I was staying with them was my grandfather's multi-band radio that had NOAA weather radio. Calming voice would put me to sleep.
And years (decades) later. Still throw it on when in need of just random repetition to fall to sleep to.
I sometime leave KNX 1070 the tabletop radio on overnight (comes in quite well here in Albuquerque).
I have not been to LA in several years. But still like the traffic reports.
I also, as a child, liked the EPG channels from our local cable provider.
Oh well,
Yes, all of this info is on your phone or laptop with a click.
But maybe, it was cooler back in the day.
Yep. You clearly weren't aware of what you wrote, even though you've doubled down on it, what, 4 or 5 times now.Really? On my laptop computer with the nice big screen?
🤣😂 Time to have fun with this. Not everyone is a tech master like you or wants to be one. I said phone zombie, not computer. Technology does not rule my life. I am happier using less of it. I actually talk to people more than I use the phone or computer, I know it's hard to believe! 😯 The phone zombies will never have the communication skills to talk face to face for more than 15 minutes. And guess what, I still have a landline. Can you believe that? It sounds better than a smart phone. So call me nostalgic because I am. I will always favor the old reliable over the new technology. And what new electronic device lasts more than 5 to 10 years? My antique radios📻, cameras📷, phones☎️, and TVs📺 outlasted every electronic device I had since the 90's. New technology may be great but it's much less reliable and can stop working anytime. Think about it, my name is Ferrite Fred. Right away it makes you think AM radio. Anyway, this was a fun discussion. Thanks to YOU.Yep. You clearly weren't aware of what you wrote, even though you've doubled down on it, what, 4 or 5 times now.
And when the radio reports are absolutely useless?I will try it for places where I don't get radio reports.
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣I’ll keep it in mind when I need a traffic saga and don’t want to stay in the modern world.Good grief brother......let it go!
