i was on here the other day and there was poll about Sirius and XM would you use the service?I can't believe I'm typing this here. (forgive me) radio people...I bought an Sirius unit. It was about 40 bucks at a big chain store...simple to install. However, I don't care for the over all sound.But, what scared me about the process. How easy it was to buy, install and activate. If we as radio folk, don't wake up. and SOON. our business is in trouble. We can preach this local, local, local until we're blue in the face. But, look at this. If listeners are wanting music. We're not serving them today.Again, radio has become an applicance that has no emotional connection. I don't care how well programmed. The days of WLS are over. That emotional connection days are done. What can we do to save this business. People are busy. People don't belive the hype anymore. Any I really do like listening to Howard. he's great.
 
i have both xm and sirius and the audio quality on both services are bad, especially the music channels. if i had to choose between the two, i'd go with sirius.
 
I just keep posting...haven't visited in a long time. Good topics.I too have installed an XM system in my BMW. Actually it was already installed. I love XM, they have a really good product. Its going to impact terrestrial radio in the future. Thats a given. But, with the way we're programming our stations these days...we're bring it on ourselves.
 
anyone have sirius with the FM modulator? I'm always getting lots of noise and constantly changing stations. I know the NAB did a study on them...I can tell you those units need more power to work.
 
well, i like Sirius until my recieve went up in smoke today. So, I now recall my comments. I'm not holiding it again sirius...but damn it pissed me off.
