Has not rolled out to me yet

Wow, I'm seeing the new web interface for the first time today using SXM's web player, and the user experience is a major downgrade from their previous web interface.

Previously, it was easy to save, organize and sort 'favorite' stations. These are all now just dumped into "Library" with no obvious sort order other than frequently listened to channels appear at the top. After that, it's a treasure hunt to find what you're looking for, with no way to change the sort order.

Also, when playing a channel, it had been easy to shrink the screen to a relatively small window and still see what was playing before the redesign. The artist and title info are now in ridiculously small text, again, with no way to customize the interface. (n)(n)

Based on how terrible the web redesign is, I don't have high hopes for the mobile app.

I enjoyed having my desktop "dashboard" with my favorites at the top.

My biggest gripe is the removal of the 15-second jump/rewind buttons. I could start a live show late and plow right through the commercial breaks until I caught up to the live broadcast (or skip commercials altogether if the show ended). I updated the app on my around-the-house device but am holding off on updating the app on my phone I use while out and about and with Apple CarPlay.

The new desktop "app" (through a browser) is really bad. I don't get it. I liked the old one fine.

The song playing is only in a small area at the bottom left. The rest of the space is taken up with things you don't really need. The library is worse than favorites used to be. You could nicely organize favorites. When you pause and then come back to listening, you see the real song at the lower left, but a song that is not playing up above. That's the song if you went back to live I guess, but who cares?

The app settings are not working. I can't tell if it's still set to maximum stream quality, and it won't let me turn on the switch for start at the beginning of a song when changing channels. Also the old app would save my volume setting. This one changes it to the middle whenever I come back the next day.

It's pretty crazy to think that they thought this was an upgrade, when 90% of people are saying it's way worse. It's a first world problem for sure, but it just makes you wonder how and why they did it. No focus group? No beta testers? Just an internal group that thought it was better? It's weird.

I'm holding off on upgrading the Android app for now. I'm sure they will force it eventually.

They forced mine over the weekend. If the Siri interface actually works, that's a plus. They say they want to be a music discovery app like Spotify. I've always thought Spotify's app was too "busy"
