SiriusXM to Launch ''The Billy Graham Channel''

The linked story is about a PD promotion in San Fransisco. I think this is the one you meant: http://news.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=n34848

He's 99 and doesn't really get around. How exactly will he contribute?

I assume this will be content related to his organization.

I would a lot rather they pick up something relevant and useful - that might appeal to their subscribers - like NGEN radio.

From other sources this will be reruns of sermons and crusades (hopefully not with Franklin tossing in some Trumpism). It'll be on for a limited time.

Because taking less than two weeks -- just 12 days -- to offer tribute to Mr. Graham is such a horrendously blasphemous waste of time. Would you be saying the same should Mr. Osteen reach 99?

Oh...and thanks for never disappointing us, Bruce.

Only two weeks? I thought it was a permanent deal. I volunteered in one of his crusades in the 80's. I just don't think preaching has the same impact over the radio that it does in person. Maybe some people will be reached. I hope so, but know different because of how the phones just went silent at WAPN when we went off the air and preaching went on. From active, engaged listeners calling the station to - nothing. Nobody calling when they played preachers or their praise and worship. I really hope people are listening to both. I doubt it. Brokered preaching stations are about checks from preachers. Listeners don't matter.

Actually haven't been a Lakewood member for a couple of years now. 30 miles. Too far. I found a different church 2 miles away.

Funny. Not an Sirius/XM subscriber and was just reminded that Mr. Osteen already has a channel there. Came back to comment. Appreciate the candid reply.

I forgot about Osteen's channel. I have no idea what number it even is.

Osteen is on Channel 128. On the Sirius XM channel guide, it is grouped with the entertainment channels, not part of the religious line up. And the Billy Graham Channel, 145, is listed as part of "More," also not with the religious line up. 145 is one of the unused, or underused channels.

There are three spoken-word channels listed under Religion...

129 The Catholic Channel, run by the Archdiocese of New York.
130 EWTN, also a Catholic channel, run by sisters in Irondale, Alabama.
131 The Family Channel, which sounds pretty much like a Salem religious station, like WMCA New York or KKLA Los Angeles.

plus as said above, there's Joel Osteen and for the time being, Billy Graham.
