I am a Sirius subscriber and was reading the XM messages about their signal. Seems in several cities their terrestrial signal is very strong. I am curious why Sirius signal is not as strong? I am in city that has a terrestrial repeater and can only pick it up when outdoors. I and never get a signal in inside a building or inside my residence using.
I did think there was a problem with my Stiletto but other people have the same problem. I looked on dogstarradio.com and their is a terrestrial repeater within 500 feet of my gym and about 5 miles from my house. The signal seems not to be able to penetrate a building very well.
Does anyone know if Sirius terrestrial repeaters are not as strong as XM's? How does Sirius determine where to place the terrestrial repeater? What is the average radius of a signal from a terrestrial repeater? Why does their signal not penetrate building well?
