WMEX 1510 is currently silent. If and when they return, they will probably get new call letters UNLESS new owner Ed Perry manages to get permission to use WMEX from the station that currently has had them for the longest time--WMEX-LP 105.9 in Rochester, NH
But...WMEX 1510 lives even if it's not on your radio dial.

That's the site for the Renegade Radio guys. Yes they're still on, doing podcasts though maybe they're on a 15 watt station in Fresno or something. They tell listeners on facebook to use the WMEX app or go to their site. They have Boston phone numbers and an email address that says RenegadeRadio1510. They only thing they don't have is a signal at 1510!
Now, what if Perry brings back 1510 and DOES get permission to use the calls? You never know...maybe he won't bother asking permission and just grab
some different calls. Those who go to 1510wmex dot com, at least while the domain registration is active, will get the Renegade guys instead.
WMEX AM: Has been used on 1510 in Boston, 1060 here (talk), 1150 here (oldies), then 1510 again (talk). Now silent and 1510 is owned by Perry who needs to find a way to get them back on...and supposedly the orig deadline of June 30 got pushed back to give him more time...?
WMEX-FM: Has shown up on 102.9 in Westport NY, up on Lake Champlain; also wound up on 106.9 in Farmington NH but that is now religious WNHI
WMEX-LP: The good guys! Woo woo! Well, kinda

"Turn your transistor radio to 105.9 FM or crank it up while you're out cruising Main Street in your groovy set of wheels, “WIMMEX” is there for you and all your friends!"
A listener on a facebook group posted: "Appartently i hear WMEX on 105.9FM.. so its not WMEX 1510am.. and its from NH.. listened a bit last night. heard a minor clip of arnie woo woo ginsberg, doing station I.D. It was enthralling..:
We mentioned what the deal was.

When he announced he was buying the station ("...but not the call letters..."), Perry said he was excited and remembered them fondly growing up.
>>"Anyway, I'm excited about the prospect of helping to revive the station I grew up with and truly loved as a kid in Natick. Should be fun and I'm sure there's a lot of air talent around to fill the frequency with great music and memorable words. As they say..."Stay tuned" !!""'
He also said he wanted it to be news and sports focusing on the South Shore. The mention of music in the quote above makes me think yeah, they could do some oldies nights or weekends or who knows what. He wants to revive WMEX, but does he want the call letters back? It could be done (the previous owners did get permission)
Otherwise, yes it's a station on 1510 but it wouldn't be WMEX Boston, it could be something like "WEDP Norwell" or something (may well have to change COL and power)...BUT hey, 1510.
