Sixers Announcer Zumoff's Mother dies

From today's Inquirer: http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/16243280.htm
Because of the death of his mother, 76ers television play-by-play announcer Marc Zumoff didn't broadcast Wednesday's game on Comcast SportsNet against Boston, and he will miss both games this weekend in Texas.

Radio broadcaster Tom McGinnis replaced Zumoff on Wednesday. McGinnis was replaced on radio by Jon Guerevitch.

Neil Hartman will fill in for tonight's game on SportsNet in Dallas. Hartman will also broadcast tomorrow's game in San Antonio on CW 57.
Our condolences go out to Marc

Marc is a class act and one of the better local TV hoops announcers in the biz. My condolences to his family.

The passing of Zumoff's mother extended to five the number of games the regular broadcast team of Marc & Steve Mix did not call the Sixers on TV. The two games previous to Zumoff's absence were done on TV by Marc and radio color analyst Todd MacCulloch. Tom McGinnis called those games on the radio solo.

I was going to go into some rattling off from memory regarding the current announcers for the Sixers, but then it just seemed to make more sense to link to the Sixer website (http://www.nba.com/sixers/tvradio/index.html). Mixture of some outdated information along with recognition of just how long the same voices have been calling Sixer games pretty much since the heyday of Boyz II Men.

Neil Hartman also served as a fill in for Marc on a game or two on SportsNet. My memory is real fuzzy, but didn't Hartman call some Sixers games back when they were on PHL 17? Or was he just studio?

He did the play by play of the sixers games on WPHL.

Thank you. I knew he had a hand in the broadcast somewhere. I was confused between Musser, Barniak, and Hartman...who I think were the main Sixers announcers of those doldrum years.
