Skafish is back in Drive time

I don't even live in Chi-town anymore, and I'm happy. I grew up listening to Skafish when he did afternoons on the Loop. Him, Bob Stroud and Patti Haze were the greatest trio in my book. I'll always remember them. Best of luck to Mr. Skafish, not that he needs the luck.

When I was starting in radio at a small middle-of-nowhere station, my PD asked me to list my favorite jocks. Johnny B, Dahl, and Kevin Matthews were the reasons I wanted to get into radio in the first place, but when it came to being an actual "disc jockey", Skafish topped the list. So I wrote him a letter, told him I was a fan, and asked if he had any tips for a young kid. Skafish wrote back a nice long reply and included a cassette of a recent show of his, since at the time I lived outside of 'XRT's signal. What a class act, and the epitome of a music-centric radio personality!
