My guess is that you are on the cc inside! Since that may be the case you should identify that you are so. My radio skill far exceeds yours anyday no matter what your name is. The people at CC running the place are looking at the bang of the buck instead of the bang of a format. Once radio starts programing radio stations to win instead of programing to cut cost they will win. What my postings have stated and or spoke about will prove to be right. I am not a insider like you must be. I do know that many who visit this site will see that I am correct. This will be indeed send you back to the new school boys club of rockers for detention! One last thing your employee base sells cc out everytime.

There are going to be a lot of changes at CC this summer. I guarantee you will see at least two morning show personalities are going to be history. When September rolls around, I will bring this post back to show the naysayers.

How do you fellas feel about the night time schedules on the CC-Houston cluster?Do you think the big wigs will evaluate those slots as well?

"The people at CC running the place are looking at the bang of the buck instead of the bang of a format."

THAT, my dear chlld is called BUSINESS. You can't pay the electric bill with AIR. IT COSTS MONEY! Thank you.

Nights will be safe. They get paid virtually nothing. It's about saving seven figures in the morning. Guaranteed!

If you program a radio station right and get good to excellent ratings the revenue should follow...if not the Sales Dept. is to blame not the format.

The most important shifts for a radio station is Mornings and Nights...it is the goal post idea. A station that gives up on Nights loses out. CHR and Urban tend to dominate nights, but why do the other formats surrender this time slot...they are lazy!

You said; "A station that gives up on Nights loses out."

Maybe not.
What of the TWO THOUSAND PLUS am daytime stations in the United States? Some don't do so well. It depends on many factors.

I've run a few successful daytimers. They can do very well. One I owned had a 28% audience share and was packed with advertising. In agricultural communities people go to bed early, anyway. In fact I ran a foreign language station in Chicago only on 5 hours a day 11-2 and 5-7 (WCRW) that grossed over 3000 dollars a week.

People watch tv at night.

Did you learn this in broadcasting school? Your statement is a tremendous over-simplification. It's not that easy.
How about the cash flow and collections?
How about the signal?
How about the competition?

OBVIOUSLY, you've never owned a station.

Not really. The reason nights are so important to Urban and CHR stations is because their audiences consume still radio at night... upper-demo listeners for the most part are watching tv and doing family-type stuff at night. For most formats the most important dayparts are mornings and afternoons because that's when there is the largest potential audience of their targeted demos.

Do morning shows really make seven figures? I mean maybe Kraddick or Opie and Anothony, but I doubt Sam Malone or anyone else on a local CC station makes seven figures. Of course I don't work in the business so I have no idea, that just seems outragious.

I believe radio is far better served when it is consistent with its format and talent.

For an example, even though the audiences of some stations takes a severe drop after the afternoon drive time, a station should realize that there their daytime regulars, who by chance are in their cars on this partiular night, are likely to find a "new regular station" on their dials if the regular station is playing an informercial for Dr. Ticnhor's Antiseptic.

Once they've moved, they likely become station shoppers.

We see that you are nuts. :D Do you know any busiess that doesn't try to improve
revenue AND cut costs? They don't exist.

And, a bit of friendly advice: when you make statements like "my radio skill far exceeds
yours anyday o matter what your name is" makes you look like a joke. If your skill was
that great, you wouldn't need to say something like that. Just trying to help you be a
little credible.
