I take it these were seen this morning; I saw quite a
bit of activity at that time too until the tropsphere
became 'mixed' and diluted in composition (no longer
stratified) by thermals created by insolation (solar
heating).

I also worked a little DX via E-layer skip into Maine
and later into Oregon on 10 Meters. Signals were good,
but nothing closer than Maine or Oregon was worked.

Some of the smoke that obscured our skies about 5:30 PM
north of Dallas was visible on the NWS WSR-88D RADAR
this evening too, until the front moved through and
drove the smoke further south.
