Skip Murphy and Company!

I don't know what to read into this but an employee at Citadel Broadcasting in Dallas says he was walking down the hall and ran into the entire cast of the original Skip Murphy and Company morning show. He says that Skip, Sam, Chris, Nanette and Wig were all together and that they were dressed nice. Sounds like a meeting to me! What do you think? Now this was at Citadel's offices on Montfort which of course is where their national shows are broadcast from!........Hmmmmmm

Maybe a new syndicated morning show?...

Where will they put them? Citadel does not have any Urban stations in Dallas.

If they are going on the bird, who would take them. Citadel has failed with Big Boy and Doug Banks. Would they appeal to a non urban audience. Well if its true, good luck.

There maybe something to this. I noticed that Chris Arnold is not filling in on The Ticket for Norm for the 4th of July, like he did on Memorial Day. There was a lot of buzz about it, so why wouldn't they do it again instead of putting in no names?.........Would Citadel possibly consider flipping 96.7 back to music, possibly R&B? Isn't simulcasting an already successful station a waste of a stick. Isn't that the logic of why Cumulus won't simulcast the The Ticket on 93.3. If they were going to syndicate one would think they would want to put them in the market where they have had thier most success? I always thought they a Hot R&B format with just a touch of hip hop would succeed hear. 94.5 and 105.3 play to much old stuff.

I don't hink they will flip 96.7 after investing all this time to promote it.and considering there is no overhead. There are already 2 rim shots R&B stations, I can't see a 3rd one coming in.

Perhaps they are planning to syndicate them in smaller markets across the US? Citadel Radio Networks (formerly ABC) is already doing this with some other shows that I know of.

You mean 105.7!

A hot R&B format could work, but you have to have the right sales force to do such.

Thanks Salem, yes 105.7....The thing is SM&C left with huge numbers and they have a strong following. I think Service completely miss handled that whole situation. The return of the group would bring automatic intrigue from a large group of those who miss them. If they do it right (big if) i would believe that they wouls bring more in then the amount they save on overhead.....Their numbers were to strong for someone not to bring them end.

Do you think they have the chops to compete on a national level? Joyner and Harvey has Urban AC on lockdown. I think they would appeal more to adults than kids. So unless Citadel has something up their sleeves, I think they would wind up like Big Boy and Doug Banks.
