Skip Murphy and the crew are back!

This time on Soul 104.5 in Fayetteville, NC. Whoever posted a while back about seeing them at Citadel was right on the money. They are trying to work out a syndication deal.

Its a done deal. They are on the bird. I saw the story on All Access.

Is this an Urban or Urban AC formatted show? I see no room for a new Urban AC syndicated morning show with Harvey and Joyner everywhere. On the Urban side maybe since Rickey Smiley seems to be the big Urban / Rhythmic syndicated morning show. After Citadel dropped Big Boy few stations went with Russ Parr and the others went live & local. Hmmmm, not sure how this one will pan out!

Failure!! Soul 104.5 went back to their old morning show.

So what happened/

I just had a feeling that Skip Murphy & Co. would not work outside D/FW.

I read they were doing a test run. Guess they got an "F".....

I agree that the UAC market is too crowded for another syndicated show. There is plenty of room for a good mainstream show, but Skip Murphy is way too old to deliver that.

I think it's time for them to just let it go.

K104 needs to smarten up and realize that Skip Murphy and Co. were the best morning show in the DFW area. Think about it, ratings were never higher; Steve Harvey's morning show (when 97.9 the beat was broadcasting it) couldnt compete with it (neither could Rickey Smiley's). They had great chemistry with each other and the listeners LOVED THEM!!!

I honestly believe if they came back to the DFW, whatever station they sign with will experience a huge ratings jump. At which point, they could try their hands at syndication.

If CBS was smart they'd flip Mega 107.5 to Hot R&B and put SMAC on the morning. They,d beat K104, The Beat, KRNB and KSoul hands down and compete with Kiss......but it won't happen.

What would a hot r&b station sound like?

Hot R&B could be a station with a rotation of nothing but currents. No recurrents, no gold, no rap.

Never say never! Personally, I think that's a great idea. I'd move over from Rickey Smiley in a heart beat!
