Skip Murphy gets his own syndicated show

Congrats to Skip! I really hope the show is successful. Wouldn't KRNB or KSOC pick the show up? This is where he had most of success.

Unless Kenny J is getting fired then no Skip. I don't think Service wants syndicated mornings and afternoons.

I would hate to think that KSOC would rather have Kenny J in afternoons than Skip. They could move Kenny J to evenings. Who is currently on evenings? Their website is not showing a host.

Forgot about MoDave. Hell I don't listen to the station enough to know who is what. Ever since the Oasis went away I gave up in over the air local music radio.

As much as I like Skip, I love the "5 O'CLOCK Traffic Jam" even more.

Listened to it today and it just didn't feel right without the whole morning crew. It's very hard to carry a 4-hour show with just Skip and Jasmine and they mostly played music and kept the talking segments very short.

I heard it too, and as much as I like Skip, I don't see this going too far. He already had giant shoes to fill replacing Baisden. Already, some stations chose not to carry him.

As for Skip eventually replacing Tom Joyner, I think that could still be in the plans (although we haven't heard Joyner give any indication of retiring) or maybe this is just a trial run to see how Skip does with a national audience. You would think they would have given the greenlight for the entire Skip Murphy Show team though because this new show is hardly the same from what we're used to that made him a hit in DFW. It's 90% music and 10% talk but maybe that's what Cumulus wanted because of costs.
