Pfft... that's nothing. We've got a recently purchased station by Aleluya Broadcasting Network that IDs its sister station instead. "Usted escucha KMIC Houston, quince noventa ah eme, Radio Aleluya". No ID of "KCOH Houston" anywhere. Then you have their sister stations, which ID everything in their arsenal, minus the two aforementioned. The problem with the ID on those, is that Aleluya IDs K236AR Missouri City, which doesn't simulcast the Aleluya programming at all. They lease it along with KBRZ Missouri City to a South Asian outfit.
Then there's CBS Radio. "Mega ciento uno es KLOL y KLOL HD1 Houston". Now, that's OK, but the HD2 is "KMVK, KMVK HD1 Fort Worth/Dallas". Uh, since "La Grande" simulcasts down to Houston on 101's HD2, shouldn't the legal be "KMVK, KMVK HD1 Fort Worth, KLOL HD2 Houston"?
It gets better with CBS Radio in Houston. 650 KIKK Pasadena's is "KIKK, KKHH HD3, Pasadena/Houston". Should be "KIKK Pasadena, KKHH HD3 Houston". 610 KILT Houston's is "KILT, KILT HD3 Houston". Should be "KILT Houston, KILT-FM HD3 Houston".
Then there's iHeart, who doesn't even attempt a legal ID. 94-5 KTBZ-FM's is "From the *insert sponsor here* studios, KTBZ is Houston's new rock alternative, 94-5 The Buzz". KTBZ is 1430 AM in Tulsa, Oklahoma. No mention of the FM or HD suffix on 94-5. 740 KTRH is "Newsradio 740 KTRH, Houston's news, weather, and traffic station". No mention of KQBT HD3 Houston? Same for 790 KBME. "From the *insert sponsor* studios of iHeart Media, KBME Houston, your home for the hometown Houston Rockets & Astros, Sportstalk 790". No mention of KQBT HD2 Houston. It's gotten rather lackadaisical down here, but no one seems to be bothered by it, but us nerd types.
