SKYWAVE COVERAGE MAPS?

Is there anywhere on the FCC's website(or any other website) where you can see the predicted skywave coverage for AM
stations? I've done a lot of searching and have not been able to find anything.

I was also wondering if there was a place to find post sunset coverage maps for stations such as AM 850 WAIT(Crystal Lake-
Chicago)? I know they have FCC authorization to operate at 265 watts from a single tower until Denver sunset. These are not
listed in the FCC database or on sites such as Radio-Locator. Are the only people that have these maps or authorizations
the individual stations themselves, because they were issued before the FCC computerized their database? Any answers would
be greatly appreciated.

I understand that they still do. I have a collection of their maps from about twelve years ago, and they do a good job with them.

Skywave contours appear in applications for new or changed AM facilities that you can access via CDBS. But what you can find is very much catch as catch can. Since the Crystal Lake station is a daytimer, which can operate after local sunset only until Denver sunset, I am skeptical that you will find what you are looking for anywhere. The co-owned station on 820 has an app or a CP to move to Willow Springs and add night service with 1500W from a six-tower night site separate from its day site. In that application, you MAY find a map showing ithe station's proposed 0.025 mV/m 10% skywave contour and KOA's 0.5 mV/m 50% skywave contour. But I'd put the chances of your finding these maps at no more than 50%.

Oops! I meant to say WBAP's 0.5 mV/m 50% skywave contour. I KNEW that WBAP wasn't the station you were looking for, but since the 820 station is co-channel with WBAP, WBAP's contour is the one you are likely to find in the application--if, indeed, you find any contour maps at all. Sorry about that.
