How bout this

1. Move Iggy from 7-12am to 3-7

2. Give Fenix Iggy's Old shift

3. Bring back Opie and Anthony but call the show Anthony and Opie so people won't know

Did Slats say anything about him leaving?

Well the "Strippers, Sports and NASCAR" persona that Slats gives his show doesn't exactly fit in with the concept of "alternative radio", which 923 is apparently trying to pull off. I noticed lately that while he was still doing some skits....his interviews had dropped off alot...much more music oriented. A shame cause Slats was one of the more talented jocks at 923....but I guess the station is just moving in a different direction...again.
______________

Iggy 3-7: I hope not. I personally think he's a weekend dj at best. I'm sure I'm not alone when I turn the station when he starts to ramble on and on about whatever stupid thing he's annoyed with at the particular moment.

Fenix 7-12: Better than Iggy, but I think Verlane would be a better choice. I'd probably say Bull is tied with Fenix.

Opie and Anthony: Not going to happen as long as they're on Sirius.

Unless 92.3 brings in somebody, there's not a whole lot there. Could Nardboy or Kim go back on the air fulltime? I don't see that happening. Should be interesting to see what they do with the 3-7 shift.

I agree with AllMighty Voice in that Slats was one of the more talented jocks at 92.3 and in Cleveland. I wish him luck and hopes he finds a new job soon.

First Seth "the barbarian" and now Slats. Not a good week for rock dj's in Cleveland. I like both dj's and they'll both be missed.

I wonder what the odds are of Seth ending up at 92.3? Maybe put him in at 3-7. Maybe Slats returns to WMMS. Put him on 7-12 and put Big Rig on overnight? I very highly doubt either will happen (especially Slats to 100.7). But, if either does happen just remember that I called it.
______________

Well I think the whole Iggy/Fenix thing was straight sarcasm. Bull has sounded more than rusty since his return...don't see him filling the slot. Yeah...I'm sure Nard will cover the shift until a full replacement is found, he's usually filled in for Slats when he was on vacation.

I don't know if Seth was straight up let go....or will they find another position for him at WMMS?? If not, I could see him being on 923. He'd instantly be better than anyone there besides maybe Rachael Steele. I cannot see WMMS hiring Slats again, having him back to back with Maxwell would just be too much of the same thing. Plus I'm sure WMMS could find someone who would be a lot cheaper than Slats. Maybe he could find a gig at WONE or WNCX....his NASCAR persona seems to better fit that audience. I know it'll never happen, but I think Slats would be a nice boost to WNCX's afternoon drive. I'll keep in mind that you brought up WMMS first buc2. Just keep in mind that I brought up WNCX and WONE first.....okay ;)

O&A are on XM not Sirius and won't be on Sirius because they hate Stern. I think they sound better on XM than on radio because they can do whatever they want, and they still have a big following, just look at the assault on the media they still do.

One of her biggest mistakes was giving the 7-12 shift to Iggy.

Most educated people know this, but it's not a rumor if you "know something." Class dismissed.

Ummmm...it WAS a rumor when he posted it--seven days ago.

Thanks for coming. Class missed you.

since you decided to point out the relationship between people's posts and the names they use on this board, I want to be the first to congratulate you on selecting what has to be one of the internet's most appropriate log in names.

I agree with nate. "Richardhead" is an excellent name, in the running with "BarryMcCockiner" over on the Pittsburgh board for most unique!

Was Slats forced out or did he leave on his own?

BTW Iggy still sucks. I don't think he knows that 92.3 is trying to pass itself off as an alternative station. The other night I heard him playing stuff that I would expect to hear on the Metal Show. I also noticed how he never has any listner interaction on his show. Most of the calls are probably saying how horrible he is. I wonder if Verlane was even considered for the night position?

Open up either Thursday or Friday's "Arts" section of the PD and you'll get the answer.

Maybe you could call the folks in the Halle Building and find out for yourself.

Actually I wasn't able to catch the PD on either of those days. Care to share with us what the article said about Slats?

I agree with Mike1 that Iggy is still horrible with no signs of improvement. I heard him play Slayer and Killswitch Engage the other night....as well as a horrible tune from Horse The Band. Don't know that he had anything to do with any of that music getting played...I mean, he's so bad on the air do you think they'd trust him to pick out music?? Then again, he's so bad on the air and yet they continue to put him on the air....so maybe I just answered my own question. An alternative station?? Is that what they're trying to be??
______________

Open browser...point to "cleveland.com"...put in "Slats" in the "Newspaper Search" box, and voila! :D

http://www.cleveland.com/search/index.ssf?/base/entertainment/113153254798990.xml?exsho&coll=2

---------
Tim Slats, afternoon drive-time jock at WXTM FM/92.3, has been cut from the station. His last day was Thursday. Slats left WMMS FM/100.7 to join WXTM in July 2004 but was unable to match or increase his listeners in his new slot. "Quite frankly, I was getting destroyed," said a candid and upbeat Slats. He was told the station wanted to make a change.
---------

I'm not gonna give you too much grief over it, though, as newspaper websites are notorious for not indexing some stuff, or making it hard to find, or other obstacles...not to mention the fact that the PD has spotty coverage of radio in general...
