SLC Move-Ins

I heard FCC approved the several new radio stations in the Wastach Front (Salt Lake) area.
All the radio station from 105.7 to 106.9 will move .1 up the dial.
105.7->105.9
106.1->106.3
106.5->106.7
106.9->107.1
105.1 KAUU & 107.5 KKAT will move to Wastach Peak and change their city of license.
106.9->107.1, 107.9 will move to Humpry Peak.
Plus there will be more move ins into Humpry Peak, 95.9, 98,3, & 103.9.

How many more radio station will move into Salt Lake area.

Also, what formats do we have left to cover them?
 
The rimshot location is Humpy Peak and 103.9's move is completely separate from this proceeding, but you got the gist of it.

104.9 Tremonton will also be moving to 104.7 on Humpy, but that's being held up by Millcreek's bankruptcy.

The application filed for 98.3 points away from Salt Lake for some odd reason.

You forgot 105.3 Diamondville moving to 105.5 from Humpy.

I don't have any idea what they'll put on these stations either, but I wouldn't be surprised if VFX finally makes a big move into the metro.

Also, is 103.9 & 104.7 construction permit moving to Humpry Peak expired?
 
It seems that SLC only has a hand full of formats covered....Country, Rock, MOR, Religious, Talk.

I was looking around the other day for anything like some R&B.

Of the one-of-a-kind formats, there's (KUER) Jazz, (KBYU) Classical, not many more. KBZN is moving toward the FM-100 sound, which seems to be copied to death lately. All that's done is dilute FM-100's audience.

What other formats has anyone missed?
 
I'm confused. I saw application for some radio station between 105.3 -106.9 moving .2 space. I thought the application was rejected by the FCC. Is it still considered?

You're right about R&B - and an actual oldies station on FM would be welcome too. KODJ used to serve that audience, but is now just another vanilla "classic hits" format with few jingles, sedated jocks, and a playlist full of 70s and 80s rock-leaning titles. Safe stuff - nothing deep. A very boring station.

A station which sounds more like 1060 KDYL - though perhaps more centered on the 1964-1980 time frame - would be refreshing.
 
KDYL 1060 AM in South Salt Lake City is EXPERTLY programmed by Steve Carlson. Good mix of oldies (true) and interlaced with the proper amount of imaging to make this station sound major market.

I am from the East Coast and have enjoyed listening to this station for about a week. Carlson knows his stuff.

1060 AM should be on FM somewhere. Not just a translator either.
 
I see 105.1 KAUU has a construction permit to move to Wastach Mountain. When will the frequency adjust will take place? I.E. 105.7 thru 106.9 -> 105.9 thru 107.1?
 
I see a CP for KAUU 105.1 moving from Manti to American Fork and relocating their transmitter from South of Provo to Wastach Front. However, in order for 105.1 to move from South of Provo to Wastach Mtn. These stations needs to be move 105.7 KNRS -> 105.9, 106.1 KBMG -> 106.3, KOSY 106.5 -> 106.7 and KEGH 106.9-> 107.1 and relocating to Wooduff UT and Humphrey's Peak. Also which allows the move of KKLV 107.5 from Orem to Kaysville and moving to Wastach Mtn, and 107.9 KUDD to Humphrey's Peak and change COL from Roy to Randolph UT.

How come I don't see an application or construction permit for 105.7 KNRS, 106.1 KBMG, and 106.5 KOSY. Is there a CP's for them to move one step up the dial?
 
It's been almost 2 years since my last post, any new info on these SLC move-in regarding 95.9, 98.3, and from 105.1 -> 107.9 FM?
