Sleeping in Seattle....

Is there a sleeping sickness going around? This board has been so slow this last week (or two). Surely something is going on....

Well folks, that tends to happen with markets too absorbed in their own interests to care about YOURS in YOUR neck of the woods.

But fact is, we may be in some COOL (potentially) entertainment off of 1520 kHz. Or 104.5 MHz. Or 88.9 MHz in the Bellevue area. All pretty much scheduled for next year.

It is not US, it is THEM that program radio today.

Really want something different? Then show up and discuss YOUR ideas.

Radio is TRULY the public's medium because it is everywhere. You can't imagine, here in the States or Provinces what radio would sound like in say, Malawi?

So I say dedicate some of those HD airwaves to music and culture far beyond the USA. Not just Talk/News but add a truly MUSIC format from beyond...

Some ARE trying, but they aren't PROMOTING enough! How the hell exactly are you expecting these HD sub-carriers going to take off if you don't PROMOTE THEM?

Damn it folks, if you're gonna make radio work, then DAMMIT! Make radio WORK!!

DAMN IT. DO I HAVE TO DRAW YOU A PICTURE?

Otherwise, Cheers!,

The Original Larry

Seattle board can be boring cause it is dominated by men talking about thier new attenna sticks or frequency modulation. Many in the northwest are on differetn boards like PDXradio in Portland. Many women have their own boards and blogs that allow us, in a ya ya sisterhood way to really talk and discuss issues in radio with a ya ya slant. If you know yaya, you know what I am talking about. i find myself rarely posting on the Portland board and checking out the Seattle board maybe once a week, if that to keep the boys in line and to support my ya ya sisters.

Mama,

My only comment on your postings is that the "ya ya" is REALLY boring. Otherwise, have at it.
