OK, dad.

It will be great to hear Slick back on 97-Rock. It was a stupid firing in the first place that cost them more revenue than they saved in salary & benefits. It's nice to see that they're investing in their product.

As far as "bashing Citadel" is concerned, I'll save that for another thread.

I'm with ROX! If something is costing $500, bringing in $600, is it really better to spend only $5 to make 6? (something like that...)

So they never should have let Slick Tom go in the first place.
 
Rox is right. They should have never let him go in the first place!....but then again, Oldies 104 should have never dumped the oldies format, WJYE should never of dropped "JOY", etc, etc. It happens, people learn, life goes on.

Smart, albeit long overdue move by Citadel. Nice to see they somehow scrounged up the scratch. Still, the line that jumps out of the Buffalo News story is Tiberi offering "I'm not making as much as I was before..." Kinda says it all these days about radio in general and Citadel in particular.

I wonder if the powers that be over at the Citadel ranch have given any thought to bringing Jim Pastrick back to the mid-days shift on WHTT.

That would be another good move, in my opinion.
 
That would be a great move. An even better move would be to move Joe Siragusa to Mid-days, and put Pastrick in Afternoon Drive. Siragusa's a competent, friendly, but not exactly exciting jock - perfect for their Mid-day audience. Pastrick would fit very nicely in the busier PM drive slot.
 
Pastrick is either your relative or he's paying you guys to post. I'm not against people going back to work at Citadel, it would be nice if Farid found some loose change, but there's no immediate need to bring Pastrick back to WHTT as there was to bring back Tom Tiberi to 97 Rock. I'm of the opinion that 97 Rock has an ulterior motive to bringing back Tiberi. Call it conspiratorial, but Tiberi, being a high profile personality, will be the go-to guy for morning drive if Norton, already doing the show from Florida, decides to book next year. 97 Rock is simply taking out Talent Insurance.
 
Tiberi on mornings? He wouldn't be getting up at 4:30 AM. He'd be getting in at 4:30 AM. I think they'd be more likely to bring Shredd & Ragan over from the Edge if Norton bolts.

Did you forget the [/hyperbole] tag? A bit over the top, but thanks anyway RJM. It's great to hear Slick Tom back in the saddle on 97 Rock. He sounds like he's on top of his game and I'm very happy to see him (and anybody else) in radio gainfully employed. I'd bill Tiberi's return as the third biggest comeback in Buffalo following (1) the Bills-Oilers playoff game win and (2) the return of 97 Rock itself. Promo forthcoming...
 
Slick Tom is also a frequent contributor to "Spiel The Wine" on Saturday evenings on WBEN.

Tom likes his wine. It soothes his vocal cords so they stay smmothy and silky!

Tom is the on-air talent to listen to weekday evenings in WNY. Nothing noteworthy happening on the AM dial after 7 pm and he's by far the best local DJ on FM after the dinner hour has passed.
