Slightly OT: Radio-Info Boards' New Domain?

Just a kind heads-up here since this is one of the more popular boards here, and I don't want the TV folks to be out of the loop. :p

As you know, these boards are being split from radio-info.com as a result of its sale to Talkers Magazine. That site is now radioinfo.com (sans the hyphen).

Today, I was checking emails and saw an email from "radiodiscussions.com" alerting me to a reply on a thread.

It appears this website is now live. I don't know when the switchover is, but it looks like this will be the new domain:
http://www.radiodiscussions.com/smf/

I saw the new title banner on top when I was finally able to get back on last night, but this morning it's back to the old banner.

For me, it still says still says
"Radio-Info.com Discussion Boards
Hello Darth_vader"
just like it always has. And it still doesn't look like the Centuryborg have gotten around to configuring their DNS equipment for the new URL, yet. (Still coming in on boards.radio-info.com/72.79.72.50:80.)

I have the national board for TV bookmarked, so I didn't notice. Thanks. when I go to radiodiscussions.com it stays there, but when I choose the National TV forum, it directs me to radio-info.com

I saw the "discussions" site last night on a different PC than I am using right now....seemingly every time I wanted to post or something, the TOS kept coming up...I was getting tired of hitting that I AGREE button.

Looks like something got fixt.

I was surfing around here Wednesday night, when I came across the new boards at radiodiscussions.com. On top, according to my screen reader, was a message from Dianna Fleming, thanking people for visiting the site, for their patience, and for being loyal participants. All of the headings read Radio Discussions -- not radio-info. As of yesterday morning, things were back to normal.

@D2theJ: Of the new site, you said: (sans the hyphin." For the "new slang illiterate," what does that mean?

I think D2thJ meant that when you type in the radiodiscussions URL, there's no dash or hyphen ("hyphin") in between the words, like radio-info has.

Actually, he meant to say is that the new website is radioinfo.com without the hyphen (unlike the old name of the site which was radio-info.com).

I guess the new owners weren't interested in the message boards, just the main page.

Indeed, I did - and for the multicultural-illiterate, "sans" means "without." ::)

One portion of the old R-I site that myself and many others accessed often were the ratings. Now it's time to find an alternative for that...

Thanks... I recall getting access to ratings on All Access' website via a free registration - don't know if they've modified that since... I suppose I'll find out soon enough...

Kind of a shame, as I liked having everything on one site- news and ratings and discussion forum.

Hardly the end of the world though- here's to Radiodiscussions.com

Bring back the hyphen, bring back the hyphen.

If it's good enough for Olivia Newton-John, it's good enough for me

This may be the wrong place for this comment/inquiry, but if RadioDiscussions is indeed separate(?): I hope they can attract someone to do just half the yeoman's work that Tom Taylor's newsletter was. The new 'TRI' newsletter isn't horrible, but it just isn't the same. Can we get some form of radio news back on a homepage? I miss clicking through to hot topics.

I understand the staffing for RD.com isn't what it was, so these may indeed be things that may take patience.

Is anyone else now having to log in *every* time they visit the site? Previously the site remembered my login, now, despite selecting 'forever' for the session length, it doesn't.

I'm in the UK (which shouldn't make much difference) and using Google Chrome (which might)

Same thing, I was just coming to here to "complain" about this...and by complain I mean this post

I had to sign in today, but I had to sign into everything. I was trying the advice about cookies, but so far nothing has worked. I don't think my problem could possibly be cookie-related.

I have to sign in all the time now on all the computers I use (IE) and my iPhone (Safari).

So far it's not requiring this U.S.A. East Coast residentto log in just to see the mb's, but it's requiring me to log in every time I access RD (don't know if the following has been addressed, but can we call RadioDiscussions "RD" in shorthand?) if I want to post, even after selecting "forever".

I was away from R-I/RD for a few days due to, among other things, lack of a 'net-dedicated phone line and my commuting schedule. I visited R-I for the first time in the better part of a week last night and was redirected each time I typed radio-info.com.

And if you try to log into radio-info, it won't accept the cookie. At least all of the accounts transferred over to RD, and there was no need to reregister.
