slightly OT: USF Football on Local TV

[EDIT]. Thats all I can say. Once again, its going to be another season of [EDIT] is this weeks USF Football game being telecast?
[EDIT] do you manage to clear your telecasts on an ABC station thats running ABCESPN College Football Every Saturday Night during the regular season????

This forced USF to scramble to get this weekends game cleared on an as yet to be determined local TV station...even the Trib had no clue as of Wednesday.

My God. Its bad enough that your apparantly repaying some 1-AA (read: lower division) School like McNeese State to play at home...an opponent which will actually penalize your hopes of making a BCS bowl...and now you can't find a local TV outlet with LESS THAN A WEEK BEFORE THE GAME?!?!?!?

Were I an advertiser that paid to be on ABC 28...methinks I"d be a bit peeved at having to bottom feed on 32,38 or 44.....

Speaking of media coverage, how about that 8 minute press conference Coach Leavitt held this week? (again, refer to the trib)
Perhaps he had to leave early to make sure no more of his players were sitting around a table in the basement, a/la "That 70s show"...

You know, since I'm not a florida native, but live in the bay area, I wouldnt mind being a USF fan. Best College football stadium (RJ) in the country, great city...but when I have to jump all over the freakin TV dial to find out where they're airing....and we wont even visit the radio broadcasts...which, I guess are back on The God Squad (570/910)....its pretty lame for a team that is BCS eligible....

This is a case of WFTS/ABC28/ABCActionNews/that no-name station almost buckling to pressure to Notre Dame and Georgia Tech fans who have zero sense of local communitiy assimilation. At least they'll have that game on Ch. 32. Since 28 has had a bad reputation of pre-empting Network programming for local programming (or in some cases something completely bogus--in one instance, they replaced an ABC show with a re-run of "In the Heat of the Night"), I wonder why USF doesn't try to land a TV affiliation with CW44? Have a feeling that new tie-in with the Big East and Disney may have something to do with it...

Oh, and WFLA is airing USF games this season.
 
I thought programming was selected with respect to ratings? Glad to hear that WFTS is showing USF football because of their

"sense of local communitiy assimilation"

Maybe they will show without commercials too?
