Slinkee Minx, "Summer Rain"

You may want to be on the lookout for this Australian trio's remake of the Belinda Carlisle track from 1989, and this one looks like a winner. It was already released in the UK this past summer and its expected to be picked up in the States soon, so don't be surprised if this one follows the route made famous by DHT.

BTW here's their website www.slinkeeminx.com.au

Just out of curiosity Robert, where was it a smash. I don't recall seeing it chart on any of the major hitparades/countdowns.

Check their website. Their positions from the UK and Australian chart are listed in the news section.

I really like this track a lot too. I wasn't aware that it was a Belinda Carlisle remake though. Anyway, I have had it for a couple of months, and I got it on the "ClubLand 7" import CD from the UK. (www.clubland.fm) It has the Alex K. remix on disc #2 of the double set, and this is one track that immediately stood out to me when I first heard it. The other one that I really love on this CD is "So Much Love to Give" by the Freeloaders feat. Real Thing. I've also got a version of this track by Bastian Bates on a Ministry of Sound CD, but the Freeloaders version is much better. I hope both of these tracks, "So Much Love To Give" and "Summer Rain" break out here in the U.S. (at least on the dance charts anyway).

B, the original is by Together (Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk & DJ Falcon) from 2002. It was a hit on the club level upon its release and another track that the few dance stations at the time missed.
