Energy 102 (The Beach's Hot FM) in the 1980s and Energy 92.1 now in Myrtle Beach SC both sounded more like Hot ACs than CHRs.

Not exactly high energy in either case. And in the 80s that really meant something. Mix 97.7, the current competition for Energy 92.1, sounds more rhythmic in my opinion and certainly has more energy.

They also use cities name’s #1 Hit Music Station on one of the stations in each market.
