Sloppy Automation and Dead Air

KFRR and KJZN, nights wacko automation with lots of dead air particularly right at midnight. KFRR often dumps into "Love Line" mid sentence, 'already in progress' @~10pm and/or cuts off the last segment of the program ~12m. KIRV has been leaving a dead carrier on air after their 'sunset sign off' more often than not for years. KWRU and KQEQ had hours and days of dead air carriers running this past week.

AND NOW, Ladies and Gentlemen.... another DEAD AIR WEEKEND on KJZN, 105.5 FM!!

Typical typical, and I bet not to many people even noticed, it's the Grizzlies games that keep that station on the air.

Definetely not ranking on Wilks as they have 2 of my favorite radio stations, they just got to do what can do with a station that doesn't have a superior signal in the metro Fresno/Clovis area.

105.5 DID HAVE great coverage from the first transmitter site - west of interstate 5. Maybe thats why 95.3 KBHH and the new 92.7 at Kerman are both re-locating to the superior site.

KBHH has been using that west of I5 site for some time now . That would be a good place for the new 98.3 - I don't see why it couldn't. Interesting to see that a 1st adjacent to 92.9 can fit in there - if it does.

IMOA that site is not as good as you think the 95.3 is very poor even with an antenna in Clovis, being a class A station, 105.5 was about the same from both locations, that site as good as it is on paper is still to far away to be dominate in Fresno/Clovis, as far as 92.7 from that location it is possible it is far enough fron KFSO, but will be limited serving any major poputation areas, remember when 107.3KMMM from Madera near Avenue 7 and Highway 145, 107.5 KMPH and KAAT 107.1 dominated over that signal in Fresno/Clovis.
