Smackdown!...MY's salvation?

As I said in another thread, I think WWE will work with MyNet however it can to grow viewership for the entire network. I think they value their slot on primetime terrestrial TV, and they'll only move it to cable if they absolutely have to.

Why don't they move it to NBC on Friday? This as the WWE already have two other shows on NBC Universial networks. USA and Sci-fi. NBC has aired WWE before for special events before. I don't see nothing wrong with having it on NBC. Only thing NBC would have to do is full one hour on Friday instead of three.

Smackdown is 2 hours

I agree, if WWE did put Smackdown it would be look upon as a step down.

The WWE prides itself by being on both cable and terrestrial, and it would make the company look even more weak than it does now.

Besides by having programs on three different networks show that McMahon is open to spread his product to get an even bigger audience than

being in one network.

I look for the next big move for TNA/Spike, if they're still a force, to move Impact to either Friday Or Monday Nights to compete with the WWE.

TNA Impact is growing slowly on Thursday primetime--its own established window and its own fans. They aren't going the full WCW route simply because, they don't have WCW money, nor do they have Ted Turner's motivation to really top the WWE at its own game. Moving the show to Mondays would be suicide. But at least you're not continuing to stupidly suggest pitting Raw and Smackdown against each other on the same timeslot.

You really need to come to grips with the fact that the 'Monday Night Wars' aren't coming back.

Maybe not TNA, but ROH just signed a new deal with HDNet which will allow them to produce a TV Show on a regular basis.

Maybe they can compete with either WWE, ECW or TNA on their respective timeslots; It's possible ;D

Yes I know it is 2 hours. NBC isn't like FOX, My, or CW with their national primetime ending at 10pm going into local news or local programs. NBC's primetime ends at 11pm going into local news. Leaving NBC just one hour to broadcast something after Smackdown.

Um, no.

Basic cable and broadcast TV versus obscure HD premium channel, one that would require an HD cable/satellite subscription. USA, Spike, Sci-Fi, WGN America, MyNetworkTV > HDNet.

That's not haterade on ROH, which deserves some TV shine on whatever network it can get. It's just cold water thrown on your dreams of another head-to-head wrestling promotion battle.

I don't see how ROH could compete, either on TV or at the gate. In the greater Los Angeles area, when the WWE is in town, they appear at venues like the Staples Center (capacity: 20,000) or the Honda Center in Anaheim (capacity: 20,000).

The last time I noticed that ROH had a show in L.A., they appeared at the Hollywood Jewish Community Center, capacity, roughly 800, if they can cram enough chairs in.

Actually, starting in the fall (or is it the summer?) NBC's prime time lineup effectively becomes 2 hours a night, with Jay Leno being stripped at 10/9 E/C.

Here's one more bit of WWE news to pass along:

Freddie Prinze Jr.'s stint as part of the WWE (Un)Creative Team has been short-lived; he was let go recently.

I guess there's only one way now to revive his already dead career: By telling Sarah Michelle Gellar, "I want a divorce!!" At least the entertainment news shows won't run that to the ground like they're doing now with that Octuplets mother crap!
