Small market CHRs sound better

They seem to be better Music wise, and more open to playing Forgotten 90s hits, that no one else plays. A good example would be the new 106.9 KIcks Fm in Cookeville Tenn, of all places. The on air talent isnt all that, at most small markets, but the music selection always seems better. For instance, Here in Indiana, we have Less Conservative Chrs in the Small towns, while Indianpolis stations play the same boring Tested Playlist, with very few Gold Tracks. Whats wrong with a Chr station playing old 90s hits once in a while, like Guns n roses-November Rain.... Color Me Badd-I wanna sex you up....or Nirvana-Come as you are..Red Hot Chilli Peppers_ under the bridge, and stuff like that. What are some good CHRs that play alot of 90s hits, That I should check out? Anyone know? Z-100 is cool, but it is customized for NYC,,, thats why they play stuff that other stations dont.

This is true - during the day they play a lot of 90s hits, kind of like 107.1 A1A Melbourne. At night though Kicks FM leans heavily on Rhythmic and currents.
Kicks FM isn't new though, I remember them already being around in 97.

Once in a while I'll listen to KWTX/97.5 in Waco by DXing or online streaming. They play today's music and sometimes throw flashbacks from the 80's and 90's. It's a great out-of-town station. Surprisingly, it's a Clear Channel station.<P ID="signature">______________

Well, in it's day, WYCR 98.5 York PA was awesome. WLAN 96.9 in Lancaster is a great station. So is WSTW 93.7 in Wilmington Delaware. But the one I found recently was in the Poconos. Max 106.3, Stroudsburg, PA. Great station. Their motto is The 90s and Now. I put the weblinks at the bottom. Hope it helps.

I think someone already pointed out to you that Max is definitely NOT a CHR. It may be an Adult CHR at best, but can also beconsidered a Modern or Hot AC. Just look at their playlist:

And while 93.7 STW is a great station, it too has always been a very Adult and Rock leaning CHR.

FM 97, now that's definitely a Mainstream CHR, and one that is customized well for its market.
