Smash moved to 1am in Jacksonville, FL tonight

They wanted to show a Scott Baio movie instead. "Zapped!" This is not going to help the rating with Smash already on the verge of being canceled.

Looks like it has only been moved in Jacksonville.

Wasn't "Zapped!" one of the movies that Channel 62 in Kansas City showed unedited during a week of adult-themed movies?

I guess "Matlock" reruns weren't a better option in this market?

Has "Make-Good Theater" written all over the place -- show a crappy, forgettable film from the 1980s, just to give advertisers their spots.

I thought stations didn't do make-goods during sweeps, but what rating did that old movie get?

Nope, they do it, especially Saturdays; WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee loves to air really smooshy 'old guy guides his grandchildren with life lessons' TV movies from the 80s and 90s all the time as easy cash grabs. Probably in this case it was the usual; WTLV assumed the night would be all repeats when they scheduled it, and then NBC moved Smash and they weren't about to stop it. Thankfully from knowing people online I know they're probably doing the usual Huluing and torrenting (or through Tumblr GIFs) of the show rather than giving up their Saturday night.

It also says something that a terrible sex comedy like Zapped! is now "clean" enough to air on broadcast TV :D.

I hope that the clients in question pay attention to this when they receive their invoices (or whatever document it is that lists where their spots ran) and make better decisions on where to place their advertising money in the future. (Although...if it's a makegood, they probably don't have much say in exactly where said spots will be shown.)

Unless the movie began at 7 P.M. EDT, one other NBC prime-time show in Jacksonville would have had to have been bumped to make way for the movie.

I seem to recall enjoying that movie. It wasn't on all that long ago.

I'm mad at NBC for changing the schedule at the last minute. Two out of the past three weeks they have aired "Smash" at 8 instead of 9, but one of those weeks TiVo didn't reflect that. This past week I was prepared either way. I hate watching anything at a library but my Internet at home isn't fast and I don't have sound.

And these have been good episodes.

I think it's more a case of broadcast TV being desperate for cash enough to air garbage like "Zapped!"

...it used to run frequently on USA in the late '80s. As I recall, Heather Thomas (then a regular on The Fall Guy) sued the production company and Embassy Pictures for creating a still visual of her head applied to a body double apparently having sex with Willie Aames. Geez...
