Smerconish Not Ready For L.A.

Michael Smerconish just did a local break on his Philly flagship station talking about the Phillies and the baseball playoffs, and mentioned that he was on the same station as "the California Angels."

Now, how many mistakes can you find in that above sentence?

I used to listen to him on WPHT when I lived in the Philly area and he's not ready for LA or any other city outside of the mid Atlantic region. Californians will just love it when he refers to the beach as "the shore" and uses those local idioms of his (most of which I didn't understand either).

That guy is a local yokel from Philly who is rapidly proving that anyone who's schmoozes the right people can get a syndication deal. Passing himself off as a Republican who endorsed Obama surely didn't hurt him in that regard either. By the way, I'm not sure which of the two things in that previous sentence is untrue but I have a feeling that one of them is.

Sorry I only find one the misnaming of the Angels. WPHT is the Phillies' flagship station and KFWB does carry Angels games.

During one of the Saturday football games (Oklahoma at Miami) one of the announcers (the analyst I think but I don't know his name) mentioned that one of the Oklahoma players was drafted by the "California Angels".

Still can't get a good cheese steak in L.A.? Gee that's sad.
For a good cheese steak you have to head here ...

I remember the location in Fountain Valley was pretty good. Since returning to a stint of self-torture in Delaware (my brothers convinced my parents to move back east and I was stupid enough to come) I've had a few CSs and have to say they're not much better back here and some were worse.

That being said, you're in SoCal, eat Mexican! ;-)
