Smerconish To Be Syndicated!

But only in Washington, D.C., as CBS' AM 1580 flips to a conservative talk format calling itself "The Big Talker" like WPHT. They will carry Michael Smerconish in morning drive, as well as other WPHT offerings, including Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly, both of whom were heard previously on now-defunct talk simulcast 3WT.

I've listened to Mike and IMHO he's more center than conservative. :)

I've also thought he'd do well on KFI Los Angeles as his 5-9AM ET would fit well on 2-6AM PT as most Angelinos would be headed home or to early morning jobs. Many would prefer a live voice to a taped "Coast to Coast" looney conspiracy theory fest. And he'd be a perfect lead in for Bill Handel as I believe they know each other and IIRC they're good friends (as are Bill and Glenn). Just IMHO, YMMV ;D

Keep in mind he recently endorsed Obama... then again, he's one of many conservatives to jump off the McCain bandwagon, so it's not a surprise...

Smerco is NOT a conservative. Yes, for a while, he played one on TV to sell books. And, it worked well.

But, after listening to him on and off for a year, it became clear that he's a centrist at best and is nothing short of a total ego maniacal self-promoter. Not to mention that listening to him gives you a migraine after a while. When it became advantageous to his career, he publicly threw his endorsement behind Obama. Hardly a courageous move, he was just following the direction that the wind was clearly blowing in his market. Sure, he has every right to do that. But, don't try and have it both ways by pretending to be some conservative who suddenly converted to Obamaism. That's BS. More like a guy who fits his political commentary into the template of the moment. He's intellectually dishonest and I have no respect for that. I'll give him this, it has ingratiated him to his fellow "O" fans at MSNBC and CBS Radio.

By the way, I can't think of any actual conservatives who endorsed Obama. Not any. And, don't say Colin Powell because his political leanings were always center-left, despite his affiliation with the Republican party.
