WKKG Promoting Smiley in the morning. Is this the Smiley we know or someone else?
 
Maybe Tavis Smiley. He's originally from Kokokmo. His somewhat liberal talk show might not be a great fit for that station though.
 
It's actually Olivia Smiley (no relation to Dave). She was an intern on the Smiley morning show a while back and has been back on a few times since though.
 
Yes, SHE'S indeed on in Columbus. Olivia Smiley is half of the morning show and also does a 12N-3P airshift. Gotta tune in a bit more Chief.
 
No, no need to listen when I can get more music without 20 minutes an hour of interruptions. Station morning show has always been happy to be able to play up to 4 songs an hour in AM drive. Rule was to play short songs so more were being played.
The use of Smiley in the morning on the promo had no mention of Olivia. I guess you can't set a brand when it is used like this.
 
The WKKG morning show is officially titled "Scott & Smiley in the Morning," exactly how the promo jingle is sung for branding purposes. Just happened to be an extreme coincidence that Olivia Smiley interned on Dave Smiley's show. Not sure how one goes about forcing someone to "cease and desist" from using their legal last name on the air. As far as music content, even four songs would be four more than the other country station plays in morning drive but we actually average 8-9 songs.
