Smizik Thinks Pirates Will Land On The Fan

I doubt that being on 970 would have soothed the Pirates anyway. They went with CC with the idea that CC would promote the team throughout all the stations in the cluster. They were anxious to get that since KDKA-AM's horrible demographics were a bad match for them as far as promoting the team.

As things turned out, CC didn't even really do much for the Pirates on 104 once they dropped Ellis Cannon. The Pirates want a nightly block of programming, and they don't want it on AM.

At least in this instance, it's cross-promotion for a sister station (albeit one now largely running ESPN programming)...
