Smoke on the Water

Right. There have been a lot of legal issues surrounding the band which has limited their touring (such as it is - I think they only played a few Indian casinos here in SoCal last year) and I would not be kidding myself into thinking the band up there on the stage now is anywhere close to the band as it was during it's glory years in the 70's (with a major, if not sustained, comeback in '84). I just want to have an evening of fun hard rock from one of the coolest and original heavy metal bands from back in the day.
Well Flip come 'Smoke on the Water' in Laughlin @ the Colorado Belle/ Edgewater August 14th so you can have another evening of fun hard rock with Deep Purple. Rooms are only $68, just got the mailer today! We have a few fine shops in Needles too for your Smokin' Oldies© needs!

I appreciate you lookin' out there HH. This would be an easy sell for me, but for Mrs. Flipper, uh, not so much. And the not-so-secret success to our marriage is simple - she is the boss. Now if they could come a bit closer, say to the Greek Theater, well, then I have a chance.

I remember "Smoke on the Water" being a hit when I was 11 years old; I thought it was the greatest song ever written and I still love it to this day. (For years in the '70s, if you played in a bar band, you had to play "Smoke...," it was like "Free Bird.")

I saw Deep Purple during their 1984 reunion tour at the Neal Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.

Who knows, kid? It's just a great rock and roll tune. That's my final answer.
