SMOOTH JAZZ 104.1

I wonder how much money Clear Channel is gonna put into this new smooth jazz station. Will they spend more money than they did promoting Mega? Will they hire a live staff? Will we see billboards, busboards, TV spots?

Here's one potential problem: 104.1 has a weak signal in Albuquerque. I can pick them in the car clearly, but not in buildings. (Just try tuning them in on a stereo on display at Wal-Mart). Because of this, chances are it will be very difficult to get people to listen at work. Doctors in hospitals, lawyers offices, etc. will not be able to pick it up and they will have to stick with Magic. They should have moved Hot 95.1 to 104.1 and put smooth jazz on 95.1.

How about Mega's old staff? Are they all just gone like yesterday? I still hear Big Benny on middays at Hot, but what about the rest of them? I thought Mega's night jock sounded better than Kiss' night guy. He had a more up-tempo party-style delivery and didn't always seem like he was broadcasting to teens.

No, we're still here! I must say that this is the first time that I have worked for a company that kept everyone around after a flip! (Last one made sure that everyone was escorted out of the building PDQ!)
