Smooth Jazz may return to Denver?

In Radio and Records Carol Archer had an article about Smooth Jazz returning to Denver on the 100.9 fm signal. Does anyone believe this?

I kinda believe it, then I don't. With the format in its current state of flux I can't see anyone jumping in right now. But BA does a good pitch, especially with its new razzle-dazzle music research thingy, so someone may bite. We have to wait and see. I'd think if listeners want the format to return that it's got to deliver something different than it did before it was gone.

Denver has pretty much always had an SJ station, I think three different signals over the years, and there are a lot of old line SJ personalities and programmers living in the market. I could see someone like Noble-Cortes talking an owner with a fringe signal into giving it a shot. This is a market I could see it happening in. What I cannot see is it being successful if they use The Network. That content is so fakey and canned it's hard to listen to and Denver listeners are used to local. Then again the way the SJ format got to the point it is at now is the whole settle for less/better than nothing thing. Listeners just kind of take what they are given and say it's better than any other options in the market so even as they play less and less SJ they still play more than the local A/C so listeners will stay until they turn into the local A/C
