Smooth Jazz Radio In Hawaii???

Aloha, never been to Hawaii but I think Hawaii needs at least one smooth jazz radio station. They should take down one of their AC stations in Honolulu (either 92.3 or 94.7) and flip them to smooth jazz. Would smooth jazz do well in Honolulu or any part of Hawaii? I would think there would be a smooth jazz format in that area. Why isn't there? It's near an ocean as most smooth jazz stations are so I think that's strange there isn't one. I'd like some insight please.

Honolulu used to have a smooth jazz station: KUCD FM 101.9. It went on the air in February 1995 and the station flipped to alternative in August 1997. Krater 96 (KRTR FM 96.3) also used to feature smooth jazz every Sunday evening as "The Quiet Storm." The program ran from 1993 to 2002. Kauai's KUAI AM 720 used to feature smooth jazz every Sunday morning as "The Jazz Cruise." When Visionary Related Media purchased KUAI in 2000, the jazz show disappeared from the station.

Nowadays, KRTR AM 650 is as close as you'll get to smooth jazz. KRTR AM 650 features gold-based AC with occasional smooth jazz and adult standards tracks thrown in. They call it "Continuous Relaxing Easy Favorites," the same format as Tampa's 105.5 WDUV "The Dove."

Ah, ok. Very interesting. Did it flip because the ratings were bad? Do you or anyone else have a logo of this station I can see? Even better airchecks to trade? I'm glad to know at least there was a smooth jazz radio station in Hawaii at one time :) .
