Agreed with SmoothInSeattle.com....it's very good.
No radio station or streaming station is going to please 100% of us...100% of the time. But, Carol's streaming station is really decent, IMHO.
And, NAC/SJ on AM is better than none at all. Hopefully their sales staff will learn the lifestyle/psychographics of the audience so they can successfully develop advertisers.
NAC/SJ in most large markets used to cume 100,000 to 300,000 different weekly listeners...even if that only netted a 1% or 2% share in total audience. That's more than enough listener cume to satisfy the majority of local-direct businesses. But, that too is the problem: most of the NAC/SJ stations of past decades expected to compete for ad agency ad dollars and watered down their music...including lots of AC vocals, in an attempt at bigger ratings.
Niche formats are, IMHO, like sports: best-supported by business owners who are fans of the format....or at least are willing to give their ad flights a chance at success....and didn't care that much about ratings.
I think the lack fully-trained, skilled sales staffs is any niche format's biggest weakness. (I sold radio advertising for 30+ years after my on-air years....I know the drill, believe me).
