SMOOTH JAZZ WDSJ DAYTON READY FOR A FLIP?

Web site looks plain and numerous links to national stories, etc. (including a nice "Naked Bike Ride" story from Sydney, Australia!). Plenty of pics of station past events going back to 2006 and NO talent listing, not that there's any jobs to be lost. They were all BA, and they should be used to losing affiliates. Maybe BA will go away too? WDSJ might finally be a station to watch in the next few days or weeks. Site looks ready made for changes.

Hopefully the new format will be treated better that the SJ format was. It was so neglected and a lot more could have been done to make them almost as successful as KIFM in San Diego. Dayton has a good contemporary jazz following and had they stayed local with jocks who at least knew or had a passion for the music, they'd have made it something that would have worked. It started out great in 2004 but in 2006 with BA it basically left the market open for changes. They should have flipped long before this. WLQT is doing a block of SJ 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sundays with part of that Kepler's countdown show. The other part more than likely Kenny G's portion of the BA network. I doubt if WLQT will put any work into it. Much easier to grab what little audience there is for smooth jazz at little or no cost or effort.
