Snap 103.7 transistions to Classic Rock

One of their positioning liners has a snippet of The Who's, "Who are you" without the F-word edited out. Nice
"Best rock of the 70s,80s,90s" is their positioning statement.

The market could use a classic rock station - now that they've bought KOGM with its Classic Hits format, makes sense not to compete with themselves, and they announced last night at the LeRoux concert that KOGM was raising coverage by raising their stick, so the format shift makes sense to me...

They havent fully launched as it seems they are running blocks of classic rock song hooks with positioning statements and a full song here and there. The new imaging and vo talent sounds better than the previous guy. The playlist seems like it will be really wide and more of the next generation classic rock format with grunge and early 90s alternative hits sprinkled in. (ie: Pearl Jam, Gin Blossoms, Lenny K, RHCP heard so far)

I like the way the imaging and song hooks are put together. Now, lets see them spend the bucks to promote it properly (billboards, TV/cable spots, etc).

I think Rich Van Slyke is their VO guy. They do have an exceptionaly wide playlist, and do dip into the 60s even though their imaging is 70s,80s,90s.
