I haven't listened to the new Snap 94.1 a ton, but I can tell you this.

Of the 10 or so times I have clicked over, they were playing the SAME Destiny's Child Song.....that one about leavin' yo' man and going to da club, boyee cauze it be jumpin and they pockets be full grown and stuff.

2 of the other times I turned over they were playing YMCA by the Village people.

My review of the station so far?? Well, they might want to rename their station Beyonce 94.1, or maybe just Crap 94.1 with the call letters WCRP.

Anyone else care to review?

Personally speaking, I like the station and a few others I know enjoy it as well. Yes. they could use to expand their library. I'm sure that will happen sooner than later, once personnel is in place. The mix of music can sometimes be a little broad among generations and genres, but you never have to worry about a slow tempo- depressing song. It keeps you moving and wondering what are they going to play next..The imaging is catchy too. The station sounds fresh and not tired and boring.
Speaking for radio professional that's in me, I'm still a bit skeptical if this format will be a really big success in this market..They're playing the middle by not swinging too urban and not too pop, similar to Q107, and I'm afraid those sort of numbers that Q has (they're making a comeback-I know), but it probably won't stick too well with all about the money tycoon-Entercom. Also, I wonder how their personalities are going to sell the station and its music or will it just be some simple liner-card readers, that are too aren't even musically astute? That could really make or break the station.

The playlist has improved but only a very small bit.
I think Livin' La Vida Loca twice in 5 hrs is a bit too much. (heard yesterday)
Jane Child Don't wanna fall in love 2 or 3 times a day is getting old... I used to like that song.
I can make an endless list of songs that fit the format that they are yet to add.
I like the concept but there is no depth to their playlist and its not because there isn't enough fitting music.
I hope it gets better or this will be a quick death and someone will point fingers and blame the format, the market, and whatever else the can come up with. You will never hear we blew it though.

A lot of the music on Snap has what I've heard called the "oh wow, oh no factor." You hear Boogie Fever on the radio for the first time in 30 years and think oh wow. You hear it again the next day and think oh no and change the station.

Also, why do they edit out the beginning of Kiss And Say Goodbye. You know the part: "this has got to be the saddest day of my life." I've heard Snap play this song about 3 times and they edit out the start which is my favorite part of the song.

They also have an unusual edit of "No Parking on the Dancefloor" the Hey Lady you can't park here bit is over the intro rather than dry

Of what I've heard of Snap, I really do like it. But I wish they'd put a few more current hits in the mix. Only ones I've heard are the KT Tunstall song and Rihanna's SOS. (They may have played others too that I just haven't heard.)

I lasted as long as I could.....but I took 94.1 off my presets yesterday. It's been replaced by 93.7 from Oxford. I'd rather hear a little static than the crappola spewing from 94.1.
