Snap 94.1

P

Professor

Guest
The Professor is just a bit perplexed -- a change for me, actually.

I have been listening to Snap 94.1 for quite some time. Initally, I found them entertaining. Had we had them on the Island, perhaps Gilligan wouldn't have been so goofy. Yet, something seems odd.

Clearly, Snap isn't working. Numbers rank them below some also-ran AMs. Yet, they seem to slog on, despite firing an entire airstaff -- a move that would be a poor omen for a format on any other radio station. There seems to be some effort there, too. The music has changed; it's now more current, and more ethnic. The packaging reflects the change, too. One would think the PD shows up daily, and actually performs some day-to-day programming duties, before eating his packed lunch, and returning to his dreary existence, somewhere in East Memphis.

So, what conclusion is one to draw here? Is Entercom just going to phone it in (gosh, I wish we had phones on that Island -- once Ginger got old, all I could think about was gettin' a boat home), or, are they actually going to put some effort into something else? Surely, something has to change, but we have all thought that for some time.

Is The Professor alone in this?

I tried giving Snap a chance and 98.9 KIM FM but there is too much junk on both stations. Memphis really needs another stronger country station or the type of station that 98.1 The Maz initially started out to be (that station has become unlistenable).
