Snippets from a South Texas radio past

Alright, these were recently donated to my airchecks page. I think they are pretty neat but I sure wish they were longer. They were DXed from Wisconsin.

The first is of an automated top 40 format in the RGV on 94.5 FM (KELT-FM at that time) from the summer of 1975:

The second is of 92.7 in Laredo (then KOYE) also from July 1975, this is a station I.D. before the start of the news, not sure of the station format at this time, now of course it is Tejano.

KELT ran Drake-Chenault's automated "Hit Parade." It was pretty much a gold based AC with the DJ backannounce on the reels with the music. As a I recall every 4th song came off the "currents" reel. It was state of the art at the time.
