Enjoying the fabulous show? It's so fresh and new. And so positive.

What do you think?

It's a lot like the old show, but instead of intro music they play the whole song.

I'm glad they're back in some form, I just wish they'd say what caused this whole fiasco in the first place.

I have heard from 2 people about what happened. Both with similar stories.

It basically just involves P&K being treated poorly by some people at 105.3.

I was gong to wait for the second week but what the hell.
It's still terrible. Does not go with the station's music concept. How much longer will this continue?
I wonder if they signed a one year deal like the previous morning show crew-Cindy Skull and etc..

They try to cram too much into their "talk" breaks. Ruins the music concept and the traffic reports.
Who's head will roll first? The Program Director (Gary?) or Puke and Smelly?

The show is still radio cancer, it will spread into the Bone making total excision necessary.

When will the ratings come out?

apparently, russ said something that angered them and they thought they had legal recourse.

egos. no guts, but huge egos.

Yes apparently Russ said something. They went to Gavin, Gavin [EDIT] didn't do anything. Russ continued and P&K walked out.

I don't know what your talking about with legal recourse. Lawyers were brought in, but to recreate a contract for P&K.

What is this thing that Russ said and continued to say that so angered P&K? I don't listen to Russ, so I have no idea what he said. I am sure that if this is true, someone here can provide the details of the situation. Could someone provide some deets? As for the question at hand-I can only mimic what PandK_71 said-the show seems disjointed and overall it seems to me that the flow is completely off because of the music breaks. Is it normal change jitters, or something else? Only time will tell. IMO (and I know that this isn't P&K's call) they need to drop the music. You cannot combine what P&K want to do with breaks for Green Day songs. It just a'int working. It sounds weird and very forced.

they wanted to sue CBS. Again.

Russ has been making snide comments about P&K for years. So now he says something that hurts their feelings too much. You've got to learn to ignore that stuff. I hope P&K are happy with the outcome. I think the music stops any good flow they get into.

That is what kind of catches my interest. Russ has been unprofessional and rude to P&K on the air ever since the first day that they started. They had always ignored it. So, what did he say that was so egregious that they couldn’t ignore it anymore? Surely if he said something that was so horrible that it made them that upset, someone would of heard it…and can provide details. If not, I am going to have to assume that the notion of them quitting over something Russ said must be just another rumor.

Shortly before their exodus JD said something about P&K that prompted Pugs to confront him on air. I don't recall the exact comment but Pugs challenged JD to put up or shut up if he thought he could host a better show.

If you know the story then tell it. Otherwise you come off as some bitter listener talking out of his ass. This sue-happy theory of yours has been pretty much debunked here time and again, so if you have evidence of new P&K legal action then let's see it.

I can't agree more about the music breaks. If they must play music then play a song or two at the top of the hour coming out of a commercial break, not in the middle of a talk segment.

I remember something between Pugs and JD. JD was saying "on-air" that it was a misunderstanding and it sounded like he was trying to correct things. What actually happened, I have no idea.

When Jimmy Johnson coached the Cowboys, he said you don't treat everybody equally. Star players got star treatment. Same thing in radio and most other businesses. Russ is on the top and he's going to get away with whatever he wants. Fair or not, you have to learn to deal with it and not let it get to you.

I can see that P&K was getting the stepchild treatment of the three daily shows. If they didn't like it and wanted to leave, that's totally understandable. But, they also need to leave it all behind when they left. No sense in keeping your stomach in a knot over something you didn't start or could do anything about. In my career, I've left a job for that exact reason.

Really? Oh. I guess being employed there I wouldn't hear or know anything at all, huh? ::)

And the JD vs. Pugs thing was all a bit, by the way.

Then spill it. It is easy enough to claim insider knowledge on a message board.

Are you slow? I spilled it. I said that they got irritated at something Russ said on air, felt it violated their contract, walked out, and tried to sue. Can't put it more simply than that. I don't know what was said. I don't know what became of their attempt to sue. I just know what happened.

I'm not slow enough to place any faith in someone who claims a ringside seat to the drama and then can't provide any details. I have yet to work in an office where the story behind a firing of this magnitude was not common knowledge within hours.

So, essentially you come across as just another internet blowhard like the rest of us.
