So...Comments On WRNO At This Point?

Are they viable? Are they going to give WWL a run for their money? They've been on long enough for us to know what they have in mind.

So what do you think? Is it gonna work?

I don't think so, but what do you think?

even though they are clear channel i listen to dave ramsey every night form 9-midnight. i will say this. outside of the saints. i cant listen to wwl.

Ummm.
Not a chance.
While WWL was all over the storms this morning Rob Cuhig(sp) was displaying his historic knowledge of the history of Mardi Gras with Errol Laborde and Bob C was busy sticking to format and being "technically" perfect... Bad day for that. WRNO is detached. Monday, while WWL is carrying the City Council's investigation "live," Sean (who gives a crap) Hannity is talking about stuff we don't care about.
Syndicated radio is all but dead in New Orleans, IMHO. WWL FM and WIST got it right. Live and local. Pick your poison, but this is our destiny for the next 5 years... at least.
WWL is safe. WRNO is doomed. Hey smash, enjoy your XM and Sirius... I enjoy mine. But this morning, I was stuck to WWL. I think this WRNO will get Mr. Lewis fired. Hey, btw, How cool is it to play entire songs on a sports station that guys my age can't stand on WODT. Ahhh, the word, I think, is... stupid. Bye, Bye DICK, and good riddance.
You're proof that "little town" radio” sales guys” have no business in the "bigs."
He’s killed a great brand in WRNO out of jealousy and envy instead of doing what radio does best…. Filling a niche.
Sad.
I miss WRNO, the ROCK OF NEW ORLEANS!

I wasn't listening this morning but I guess it was "wall-2-wall" Dave Cohn? WRNO is simply out-staffed and CC won't spring for decent news department. They have what, two anchors? Save some money & get rid of Jim Brown (what an EGO), send him back to the pokey.

So does WRNO now stand for "We're the Rant of New Orleans"? :)

I listen to talk radio all day so here's my take:

WRNO gives me no reason to listen. The positive voice? Cmon, you've got to be kidding me!! More like the sleepy voice. If I listened more than 5 minutes I would fall asleep. It's a train wreck without a train!!! I like Rob Couhig, actually voted for him but he is not a talk show type guy. Not a good match with Bo. Jim Brown is a convicted felon. How can I trust anything he says when it comes to any type of reform? Andre is a good woman who's time was 5 years ago. Sominex on the radio. Hannity is a shill for the Republican party and is a liar from my perspective. The afternoons are mediocure as well. I think Bob Christopher is in there now? Whew it's bad. I'm not sure how long they can stay around with the way it is now.

I like 690. I listen to 870 for breaking news only really now. Their talk style just sounds kinda cookie cutter to me. I dont agree with everything 690 says but it usually keeps my interest for more than 5 minutes.

It's been what....nearly a year now since WRNO-FM has died? As predicted: the "new" talk format is about as exciting as watching dull wood gather dust. CC should have bought a talk station and revamped it--NOT take a classic rock icon and toilet flush all it's glory years of NOLA rock radio history.

I'm still furious at what the corporate sell-outs have done, descreating the "Rock Of New Orleans". Like the "rebuilding" of New Orleans: resentful feelings at the betrayal of WRNO-FM will be around 20 or so years on.

I've listened to about 10 minutes of "the new 99.5 FM"....and I refuse to and will NEVER listen to that station ever again.
