You're right, it is Tulsa.Yes, I did work with Mitchell. He hired me at WLTS in December if 1989. In 1933 I went to 95.7 for the launch of KOOL. Blair and I were the original KOOL Wake-Up Club (Blair & The Fatman). Mitchell replaced Blair in 1995 IIRC. I guess we had an ego clash and his won. Marinello was brought in for sports and that was fine, I got along great with Vinnie. I had some personal things to take care of in Oklahoma with the estate of my late parents and when I got back from finalizing everything my first day back was Tuesday, October 14, 1997. On Wednesday, October 15, 2 weeks before Ed Muniz sold the station, I was informed by Tommy Tucker that I was no longer in their employ. Not a word from Mitchell. I have heard from several reliable sources that he had been trying to get Muniz to blow me out for several months prior to that. I've seen Bob twice since then, once at Darlene Gentner's funeral and once at a stoplight in Slidell. I think the thing that hurt me more was the silence from Mitchell. I thought he and I had become friends. I had been to his house many times and spent time with his family. Dawn and I took a scuba diving vacation with him and his family to Cozumel. We were dive buddies. On that trip I was diving with too little weight and using my air too fast trying to stay down. I ran out of air at 100 feet and we buddy-breathed to get me to the surface slowly and safely so I wouldn't get the bends. I literally put my life in his hands and I thought we were friends. Apparantly not. Hell, I'm a big boy. It wasn't the first time I had been fired and it probably won't be the last. Larry Lujack said that you're not worth a crap until you've been fired 3 times. If he had just had the balls to come to me and do it himself I would have been fine with that but his silence said volumes. Vince called me at home to say he was sorry but not a sound from Mitchell. Here's how it went down: Tommy called my house when I was at lunch that day. Dawn paged me to tell me that Tommy called. I had production and show prep left to do so I had to go back anyway. I walked into the control room to see what Tommy needed and that's when it happened. I have to say that Tommy was very professional about it. Anyway, I could have left right then and left everything undone but I didn't. I went and finished the show prep and prerecorded bits for the morning show then packed up my stuff and went home. I could have deleted all the show prep and EVERYTHING in Mitchell's computer and left him hanging but I'm not that kind of guy. A pro wouldn't do that and I didn'tOh well... Karma I suppose. It'a all water under the bridge and life goes on. Sorry to ramble but you asked.(edited for typos)
