So how is KUHA doing lately?

I really don't know because.....I can barely pick up the station even though I'm only located on the south Gulf Freeway on the Harris/Galveston County line.

Man, when it comes to public radio in the Houston area, your choices are very limited. Thank God for streaming capabilities on the internet.

1.1 and trending up in the Holiday book. Considering that KTRU was hashmarking, that's an improvement.

6+ July: 0.6 (first Arbitron appearance for 91.7 in several years)
August: 1.1
September: 0.8
October: 0.9
November: 0.9
December: 1.0
Holiday: 1.1

Engineering-wise, Mr. Steel has it sounding really nice right now. But you won't ever get 91.7 on 45 south at the Galveston county line because they have to protect the Seabrook 92.1.

Which puts an end to the silly argument over which format better serves the public interest.

Face it, KTRU's audience was virtually nonexistent. Fringe format with fringe listeners.

That's why Rice's radio station has been selected for iHeart radio and UH's stations haven't been?

UH's stations have their own app. According to published reports, once you go on iHeart you can't be on any other app.

Plus, with the average KUHA listener over 55, I doubt that station would be a target for indie/college stations by CC programmers. Just a hunch.
