So how will "The Party" end and "The Game" begin?

I say the last song as "The Party" should be "Closing Time" by Semisonic because it fits their current Hot AC-ish sound, then 102.5 should go right into "The Game" by Motorhead (if Jerry Jarrett doesn't have a problem with Cromwell using a wrestling track...)

Agree or disagree?

Didn't KDF play closing time? I say the Party should go out the same way it came in; with 24/7 MACARENA! Lead into the Game with "Put me in coach" by John Fogerty.

I think "Closing Time" was too soft for KDF, I don't I ever heard it on there.

"Centerfield" is, and will always be, a good baseball bumper, but not enough firepower to get people pumped up for a sports talk launch.

Here's something I didn't think of...they could use the audio of the Wayne's World street hockey scene..."GAME ON!!! GAME ON!!!"

I think Delta's nailed it...Dandy Don Meredith! and yeah...KDF did play "Closing Time" repeatedly before going
country...and 102.5 played "Macarena" non-stop for their launch.

The non-stop playing of "Macarena" was for their original 1996 launch, version 1.0. For version 2.0 (2008), they stunted with a different artist each day for several days, a day of Led Zeppelin, a day of Frank Sinatra, etc. Playing "Macarena" continuously now would cause people to tune out!

Delta, I had just thought about that, good call!

Romer, I stand corrected...I can remember The Core, Rooster 106, Star 106, The Phoenix and other obscure stations and what they played, but not "Closing Time" on KDF? I must be getting old...27 is the new 40!

guys guys,,,Don Meridith singing,,'turn out the lights..the parties over".. ;D
This with the usual 102.5Party "tennis shoes in the drier" tune playing as the bed......

I swear I thought KDF did play Closing Time when they closed....and more than once. And, FTR, that song would have been a rock song on what KDF evolved into in the last years.

Or perhaps the hockey game scene from "Clerks"?Then again... ::)

Maybe just a continuous loop of old TV commercials would be good...I suggest Rice Krispies in honor of all the snap, crackle, pop that will no longer be hidden by the music....

"Closing Time" was final 103KDF rock song. "Don't Rock the Jukebox" was first country WKDF tune.

As part of 102.5 Sinatra and Led Zeppelin stunting, I think they played a few hours of televison show themes too.

The Party Is Over

at 5:00pm today, 102.5 started stunting , playign "The Party Is Over" over and over again, along with someone making comments like "the party is over, we get it!"

still running the construction sounds at 11pm...along with various sports audio clips...
and...still stopping down for spots! how'd you like to explain to a client that their final
spots in their schedule ran during stunting?
wonder when the stereo pilot will be turned off?

Dang it. Does anyone have recorded audio of the construction starting Friday evening? I wanted to hear it. I'm a radio buff and this is the first format change that I ever knew about before it happened and had even set my alarm for 11:50 PM Sunday night to be listening at midnight when I thought the format change would be.

Thanks

I suspect this has been noted elsewhere but...

When I tuned past last night, I heard someone whisper "Monday at 6am". You can probably guess what that means.

(or doesn't)

IMHO, this is one of the most entertaining stunts in history. It's creative + humorous + predictive... It's better radio than 25% of the stations around-
