I tuned into 1510 this morning and noticed Santos wasn't on and I think it was Ed Schultz's program with Norman Goldman filling in. Is this a sign that Santos is out as the local liberal voice? If not he certainly loses all credbility not being on this week especially after Sunday nights vote. Is he the wrong voice delivering the right message you think? Hmmm......
 
Maybe he fired his producer. (As was suggested by a poster on his board previously.)
 
They have a website. It's called RevolutionBoston.com and if you saw it you'd see he is on vacation
this week and reruns of other prog talk shows will air in his slot. "It could be worse," I said in a
tweet to bostonradio. "They could be re-running HIS shows." :) bostonradio noted that his lease with
WWZN is up next month; I don't know if he will renew. As long as he's got the money for the brokered
time...as Hank Williams once put it, if you've got the money, honey, I've got the time.

who is the program director at 1510, if Santos is in fact only on vacation how do you not have a fill in host? Playing other shows where the morning show should be just does not see at all smart to me....unless your trying to lose your audience!

I guess some people never get the word. As has been stated on this board in numerous threads and HUNDREDS of individual posts, Santos is leasing the time (10P to 7P M-F--21 hours a day; 105 hours/week) from Blackstrap (owners of WWZN). That makes Santos his own PD. He obviously did not think it was worth the trouble and expense of bringing in a guest host while he was on vacation. You can call it unprofessional, but who ever said that Santos was professional?
 
When WTKK ran Hannity, which was the same time slot as Severin, Sean was delayed till 10 but when Jay
was on vacation they'd go to Hannity live and either run it again at 10, or do a "radio rewind" of a previous
Severin show at 10. Not too long ago they picked up the Todd Schnitt show live at 3 pm when Jay was off.

In addition to the 10a-7p block I think Santos is running some shows late nights like Norman Goldman and Mike Malloy. I know Premiere syndicates Randi Rhodes who would fit well in on WWZN and perhaps they'd like her cleared in Boston (and she wouldn't nec. fit on Rush Radio) but maybe she's too expensive to run
 
Also on the topic of substitute hosts on Boston radio, most recently, WRKO ran "Red Eye Radio" in lieu of Howie Carr reruns which were thrown on to replace "Coast To Coast AM". Early Monday morning, I actually heard a little "RER" and heard Doug McIntyre take a call from Boston. I guess WRKO only carries the show on Sundays, as well as days Howie Carr is off?
