So is the deal final?

Nice to see everyone like radioaircheck has it all figured out. In the world of radio-haters on this and other boards/blogs, decisions by every company are evil. Let's see....did Cumulus mess up The Ticket when they bought it? Don't think so. The Wolf? Still kicking butt. KLIF? Been a tough putt ever since Susquehanna days, Cumulus inherited that problem. I-93? Actually making some inroads.

Stations they are buying? Don't see them changing KSCS....why not sew up all the country shares under one roof? WBAP? Everyone who thinks Cumulus is going to blow that one up isn't thinking like a business person.

Prediction: the sun will still come up tomorrow, all of the above mentioned stations will still be doing what they are doing today, and will be for some time. If any of them change, it'll probably be because they needed to, Cumulus or not.

"I read that effective today, all Citcomm email addresses change to Cumulus. That seems to say it all."

What does that mean? "...seems to say it all." You expect Cumulus to keep Citadel e-mail extensions? Good grief.

No...I'm answering the first question in the thread. If the email addresses change today, the deal is final.

Thank you TheBig A. Tommy, deep breath.......and exhale....... ;)

All i was saying is that the big salaries that are in place with Cidedel will not be there for cumulus. That is all I am saying. They will automate everything they can. I notieced that Hal Jay is on vacation this week. He might as well use it, because I don't see them keeping the Morning News the same. I could see Ha Jay retireing after 30 years. It would be a shsme because he is a good talent who has been a fixture at WBAP all this time. Lets hope they don't change much because the station sounds good as it is.

If you got into radio to get rich, you made a mistake. I've been saying that for years.

Saw a Citadel Cumulus employee changing the "employment" information on his Facebook profile to reflect the new company name earlier this week...

According to All Access this morning, it's a done deal.

Can't help but feel bad for those folks that will be let go. That's the way radio go, I guess. What may seem refreshing at first quickly turns to desperation once you realize it can be tough to get back in. No fun and good luck all!

Of course I don't want to see anyone out of work, but if you haven't been laying the ground work to move on to something else you only have yourself to blame. The few people left in this business in this market obviously are still here because you are passionate about radio. Moving on for me was beyond painful but it was one of the healthiest decisions I've ever made. Rip the bandaid off quickly, feel sorry for yourself for a couple of weeks then buck up & find work at a company that rewards their employees for good work. THEY ARE OUT THERE. The reason radio/traffic companies get away with paying salaries that aren't livable is OUR fault folks. That desperation you speak of is exactly what they bank on. Be thankful you had a great career in a fun job. Now grow a set, take a stand & start a list of things you're good at & enjoy doing, then start a new life based on what/who you now know you won't put up with. Hold your head highthrough this scary transition & work for someone that deserves you & your dedication. The best of luck to all!
