The station is putting on amazing week and an amazing day in programming. I have to give credit to CBS on allowing the switch to occur as they are allowing it.
Margot played some of the deepest stuff I have not heard in years from both indie and older rock bands. Pigs on the wing from Pink Floyd and does ANYONE of my 70s nuts remember Brian Eno's Everything Merges with the Night. I pulled over to hear that song through. One of those lost songs that were good but you never hear it on radio and you probably don't even have it on your ipod.

Ho posted something about Rock leaning newer in their music but I listened for a few hours on Thursday and here was my count of a set of songs and you can take it how you want it:
6 songs from the 70s
4 songs from the 80s
4 songs from the 90s
1 song from the 00's
Nothing in the 15 song set that was 2010 to now. The only modern rock song (last year or so) I hear is the new one from Greenday and Foo Fighters which fits the mainstream rock charts.

I am sad and upset that CBS is pulling the plug, but I do give them and Rick Caffey all the respect in the world to allow all of the personalities to say goodbye and reflect on the past 8 years and beyond. Atlanta is losing a very important outlet for new and local talent, for the venues where they play and for all of us who do listen and have listened for many years.
If anyone (formerly and currently) at Dave is reading this, a heartfelt thanks and best of luck to each.
didn't see this post, but yes, THANKS to the staff at Dave FM. You all provided a nice soundtrack through some great times and not so great times in my life. I don't know if Charles the night jock is reading this, but in April of 2006, I'm the guy who called in at the end of his rope when my Mom passed from cancer and you played "Everybody Hurts" by REM and talked to me for 4 hours. I appreciated that and you may not know it but you got me centered at the lowest point in my life. Radio is a powerful medium, it's too bad it's been overrun and abused by corporate takeovers, but even in a sea of such you all tried so hard to keep it real and creative.
Dave was a class act of a station, you all are awesome. I wish you all the best. Sometimes you were all over the map musically, but I think this was what made you unique.
